Meet and proceed to Kanowit town locate around 70km from Sibu town within 1.5 hours driving. On the way, stop at the Handicraft shop at Durin Bridge Junction, if guest are interested, they can buy some local handmade handicrafts. Continues the journey to the Kanowit town. Kanowit has been established as early as the mid 19th century. Having a local lunch at restaurant.
The Rajah James Brooke built a fort here, called Fort Emma, in 1859. It was named after Emma Brooke, the niece of James Brooke and sister of the future Charles Brooke, who was then heir apparent, or Tuan Muda. The fort is still standing, although not open to the public. It is in a state of neglect and in need of conservation, but is still quite impressive. Proceed to others attraction such as Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple & St Francis Catholic Church for photo taking. After that, transfer back to Sibu town.
